Pickle

I can't just write another meaningless poem
about love and life and tender caresses
it wouldn't mean much
except to tell you I'm full of empty words

I want these words to mean something
to make you smile at the past
to embrace our present
and look forward to the future, with eachother

I want these words to make you feel
the same electricity I do when we're together
the same way I do when I get lost in thoughts of your eyes
but just a little different, because we aren't the same person

You are so unique and precious
a blend of fragile and independent
that I have come to adore, to treasure
in one who's spirit can outshine the brightest stars
who's eyes then twinkle with that same light of the stars
and when you lock them with mine, I wish I never had to blink
